      <image:caption>Gate Psychological Services was established by Dr Gemma Gate, Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist. Prior to working independently, Gemma worked within Mental Health &amp; Learning Disability Services in the NHS for over 10 years. Her former role was leading an NHS Specialist Mental Health Service for Children in Care. Gemma has been an approved provider of post adoption specialist assessment and therapeutic intervention since 2016. Through her work, Gemma has developed a specialist interest in early adversity and childhood trauma. She is passionate about raising awareness and promoting trauma informed care across all settings. Within her clinical work, Gemma takes a flexible approach drawing upon a range of psychological models. She is particularly skilled in supporting overwhelmed, stressed parents who may be experiencing blocked care and secondary trauma.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>Aisling is an associate clinician with Gate Psychological Services. She mainly works within our Specialist Trauma Service offering comprehensive assessment, formulation and training. Dr Aisling Martin is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in attachment and developmental trauma and a passion for promoting relational approaches. Within her NHS role, Aisling leads an integrated trauma-informed care team within a local authority children’s service. She has over 20 years NHS experience working psychologically with children and young people, families, and systems across varying levels of complexity in both clinical and forensic settings. Aisling is proficient in comprehensive psychological assessment and formulation. She has received further training in therapeutic and trauma-specific approaches, including Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP Level 2), the Trauma Recovery Model, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR Levels 1-3) which she applies within her clinical practice. Aisling particularly enjoys working therapeutically with parents and systems around young people and recognises the parallel processes of trauma that they can experience. Aisling enjoys supporting others to develop their own knowledge and practice. She is experienced in providing Clinical Supervision and has completed British Psychological Society accredited training. She regularly provides Teaching and Training on childhood trauma, trauma-informed care, and therapeutic parenting approaches on a Clinical Psychology Doctorate programme and within the local authority.
